OneDay has earned the support of a multitude of individuals, countries, and states. In November 1999 the United Nations General Assembly invited the people of the world to celebrate "One Day In Peace, January 1, 2000" by refraining from violence of any kind on the first day of the International Year for the Culture of Peace. One thousand organizations in one hundred thirty-five countries and hundreds of mayors worldwide participated in this launch for a better world.
